Alaska-2005

That is interesting. On Silversea's website, there is no deep discount for the Alaska itineraries, meaning that they must be selling quite well. That being the case, why don't they go back to Alaska next year? Any ideas? Thank you.

Alaska is a crowded place with so many ships calling there and so little room in some of the little towns. Silversea elected to go for their 10th anniversary, but I think they find the Med more profitable. (IMHO)

Note that Seabourn did exactly the same thing two years ago...a great Alaska season and then not repeated (yet.)

We just returned from the Silver Shadow which did a crossing from Tokyo to Anchorage and the VP of Sales and Marketing for Asia was on board. In response to a passenger's question, he told us that at this point, Silversea was going to do Alaska every other year.
