2cruiseagain Posted July 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Here are some links to pdf documents that might be of help. I only had 4 of the Freestyle Daily sheets but the first and last are the most informative. Also there are the Disembarkation info plus the Fitness schedule along with the TV stations offered. I hope this helps. I know when I was researching, I would have liked to have these. Feel free to ask questions if you have any. We were on the 7/10 POH. http://www.2give2friends.zoomshare.com/files/Disembarkation.pdf http://www.2give2friends.zoomshare.com/files/Fitness_and_TV.pdf http://www.2give2friends.zoomshare.com/files/Freestyle_Daily_Mon.pdf http://www.2give2friends.zoomshare.com/files/Freestyle_Daily_Tue.pdf http://www.2give2friends.zoomshare.com/files/Freestyle_Daily_Thu.pdf http://www.2give2friends.zoomshare.com/files/Freestyle_Daily_Sun.pdf
wizard-of-roz Posted July 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2006 2cruiseagain: Thanks for all the great information. Although, we're going on the Norwegian Star, in November, this was very helpful! I gives me a great insight as to how NCL does things. :)

cctrekker Posted July 22, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2006 2cruiseagain,are you sure these work, I can't seem to be able to open them? Worked for me. Make sure you have a current version of Adobe reader as the PDFs made from a new version does not work well with the older reader version.
2cruiseagain Posted July 22, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted July 22, 2006 2cruiseagain,are you sure these work, I can't seem to be able to open them? It may be that you have an older version of Acrobat. Here is the link to get version 7. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html If you still can't get it to work give me your email address and I can send them that way. TikiMeekie Posted July 23, 2006 #11 Share Posted July 23, 2006 OMG, Thank you thank you thank you!! This has all the little information I was getting really curious about but couldn't find. I noticed there's a cruise critic get together listed at 5:30pm on the first day - do you know if someone on your cruise arranged this? Thanks again! I'll try to save our Dailies from the days you are missing, but I'll probably write all over mine, knowing how I am. :)
2cruiseagain Posted July 23, 2006 Author #12 Share Posted July 23, 2006 Hi. It won't open for me either. Something pops up and says zoomshare has exceeded its daily traddic limit. Is that supposed to happen? This zoomshare thing is new to me so I don't know the limitations. It was the only way I could think to show pdf files larger than the tiny 19.5 kb limitation the board allows. I know how much I would have wanted these before I left. You should read my review. There are some other things that might be of help in planning. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=383588

I'll try to save our Dailies from the days you are missing, but I'll probably write all over mine, knowing how I am. :) We actually had a 5pm meeting setup in the Spinnaker lounge but only 3 of us showed up. I don't know if the others went to the one from the Daily or not? I didn't even read the Daily until 6:30pm and no one was there at that time. So, I don't know if anybody set it up or not. They should have a standing meeting like that every cruise. There are so many bars that are empty at that time it wouldn't be a big deal.
2cruiseagain Posted July 24, 2006 Author #14 Share Posted July 24, 2006 I upgraded this zoomshare account to allow for higher traffic per day. Please let me know if it still gives this error.
atanac Posted July 24, 2006 #15 Share Posted July 24, 2006 It's working beautifully 2Cruise. Another couple of questions....in your opinion do both sides of the ship afford the same view of the lava flowing down into the ocean? Also since it is possible to embark as early as noon and the ship not departing until 8pm can passengers go on and off prior to sailing or must everyone stay onboard once they get on? I'd like to get on early, make all my dinner reservations then get off and take a cab back into Honolulu for the day. Do you know if this is possible? Thanks again Jack
2cruiseagain Posted July 24, 2006 Author #16 Share Posted July 24, 2006 I really don't recall if the ship turned back to the port side. We had a great view around 10-10:30pm and went to bed after it left our view. I would think someone with a starboard side room could confirm if it did make the turn. I think you can get off after you board in Honolulu. There is a nice Aloha Market shopping area right next to the pier and I would think they want you to shop there instead of eating their food on the ship.:) We were in Waikiki for two days prior, so we wanted the time on the ship to explore and settle in. CruiseAddict58 Posted July 25, 2006 #17 Share Posted July 25, 2006 This information is fantastic...thank you, thank you!!! We are booked on the POH Thanksgiving cruise and so many reviews mention that is so difficult to book your dining reservations on the TV.....is this true? Thanks again! 2cruiseagain Posted July 25, 2006 Author #18 Share Posted July 25, 2006 In the middle of the week I tried to go on the interactive TV to check on reservations and I couldn't find where to check on current reservations. There may have been a place to request a new one but I would rather just go and do it in person to be sure. One thing to note. Two of the reservations for the week were under the Hostess' name that made the reservations for me on the first day, with my name in the comments. This created some confusion when I was either trying to change or confirm reservations. We figured it out in time, but I thought they had lost my reservations. wizard-of-roz Posted July 26, 2006 #21 Share Posted July 26, 2006 Letha: We're doing our very first NCL cruise on November 14. I'm counting the days. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to "freestyle" dining or not! I'm so used to planned times for dinner and sitting at the same table with the same servers and dinner guests. It's going to take some getting used to! My husband wants to try a cruise where he can wear more casual attire at dinner and see if he likes it! We'll see! I'll get online and review my experience, on the Star to the Mexican Riviera, when we come back. You know what? We're going on a cruise; we're going to be served every meal, every day; we don't have to clean-up or do the dishes or make a bed; we can lie around and look "bleary" eyed, with a consistant smile on our face everyday! Life is good! Have a wonderful cruise! :p Roz
randlandk Posted July 26, 2006 #22 Share Posted July 26, 2006 Roz-Since this is our first cruise period, "freestyle" dining may end up spoiling us and may make a difference when we do cruises later on!! We shall see!!:p Letha
bblossom Posted July 27, 2006 #23 Share Posted July 27, 2006 Thank you. We are on the Pride of Hawaii on Aug 21. We have about 15 to 20 people in our roll call party. Hopefully we can all get togther and meet. We can put faces togther with the posts we have shared. Still waiting for out documents. NCL said they sent them. Hopefully we can all get togther and meet. I don't know how it happened but we had the 5:30 Cruise Critic gathering at Magnums Champaign Bar on deck 6 in the Freestyle Daily and I had no idea. I went to Spinnaker @ 5pm like we last said in our roll call but only 2 othes were there. Others might have read the Daily. You should make plans to meet at Magnum's at 5:30 unless the Daily says otherwise. With Muster @ 4:30, you should have plenty of time to get there. randlandk Posted July 28, 2006 #25 Share Posted July 28, 2006 2Cruise: I started a new thread to find out some information and thought you could help us out. I did not see on Thursday where it talked about Lobster night....did I miss it. Also someone said there was a Chocolate Buffett on Tuesday nights...is this true as well? Thanks!!!
