chelsea_gal Posted July 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2006 We where wondering what would be the "typical" times or the earliest we can expect to board the Mariner of Seas? and at the end of the cruise by what time are most passengers off the ship? Finally on the embarkation how long does the custom process take? The reason for my questions is we are trying to figure out - our flights arrival and departure times from/to Calgary, Canada, to/from Orlando airport. We know that we have to factor in drive times to and from the port to the airport etc. So any advice that anyone can share will be much appreciated. btw- we are all so excited !! and cannot wait for the sail date to come around !!! jetlady Posted July 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2006 we were on the July2nd Western cruise, they started boarding at 11:30. We got off around 10:30a. pretty boring staying on though, nothing much to do, watch the clips from the week on board video. Had to be out of the room at 8. But it was better then sitting in the airport, our flight was not until 4.

Bemus Posted July 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2006 Just got off the Mariner Sun July 23 and embarkation was a breeze. Got there around 12:40 and in the room by 1:00. Here is some great advise if you want off the ship as early as possible. wait until sat and ask for Lavander 1 tags for all of your luggage. we were in the airport by 9:00 am and the airport is 1 hour away. Wow Bemus .... excellent tip will use that as we would like to catch a early flight to Calgary, Canada. As it is already if we catch flights out of Orlando at 4:55pm wont set us down in Calgary ( including connections ) until nearer midnight. This way we can perhaps get a flight back earlier than 4:55pm once again thanks for the tip!!

Hi, We're from Calgary too and are also starting to get excited! The broiling weather this week has really helped add to the spirit. I don't know if this will interest you, but it's one of my favorite cruise tricks. We book the RCCL excursion that returns you to the airport. The major advantages are these: 1. They gather the tour group (usually around 8:00 a.m.) and walk you off the boat past the other 3,500 others waiting in line. TOTALLY PAINLESS! 2. Ends right at the airport in time for all international flights departing after 4:00 p.m. but does not leave you with tons of extra hours sitting at the terminal (we've never missed a flight doing this). 3. :D Makes for a kinder, gentler re-entry after such a great week. This particular tour (in Orlando) is to the Kennedy Space Center, which should be really exciting at the time we'll be there - who knows, they may even launch that day! Also, the price is reasonable as it is less than the combined total of the transfer and the KSC admission. Think about it! Happy Sails, Annette p.s. We're flying back on America West at 5:10 p.m. Bought the tickets about six weeks ago -whoooeee air fares are steep this summer.
ronandannette Posted July 24, 2006 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2006 :o Chelsea_gal, Sorry - I thought I was on the Roll-Call board for 27/8/06. We aren't on the same sailing after all, but the info is still valid. Have a great trip. Annette
