Currency at all ports

Recommended Posts

Would you say it's OK to rely on U S money only for all ports? "Finland, Poland, Norway, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sweden, Denmark, Tallin" All of my excursions are via the cruise line therefore I don't think I would need foreign currency for restrooms, shuttles or taxis. I was planning on using US money for shopping "street vendors or shops". Has anyone had US money turned down for those two choices in shopping? I also have collected many small denominations in good condition bills for places that prefer bills in good condition such as Russia. Going in three days!!!!!!!!! "the Grand" Any advice???????????? Thanks a million in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Iris Faye

I don't think you will have any problems with the street vendors, but some shops would not take US $'s, so I simply used my credit card in those places. The only place in Russia where we had to have rubles was at a street vendor selling soft drinks. All of the shops and stores in all of the ports accepted either Visa/ MC/ or Amex. Also, taxis would only accept local currency, but that doesn't sound like it will apply to you. Have a wonderful trip.
