Where to stay/What to do in Vancouver???

Recommended Posts

[COLOR=Red]HI,

We are getting married in Vancouver in August before our cruise.

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel that is close by to nice places to eat and or close by to places of interest?

We will be there for about 4 days in early-mid August and have no clue on what to do or where to stay there. :0

I'm hoping that soem CC members might have some sugestions and or recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Vancouver

If you do spend 4 days there, try to get a room in the Pan Pacific Hotel so that you can watch the ships come and go. It is also close to the Gas Light district where the steam clock is located. China town is close by. There are lots of restaurants nearby. There is also a revolving restaurant in the Sheraton.

You might want to take a ferry over to Victoria and see Buchert Gradens - lovely.

The Pan Pacific is right were the ships dock.

and read on how to get a great deal on a hotel. There is so much to see and do in Vancouver and hundreds of places to eat. You need to tell us your interests so we can narrow down what to tell you.

[COLOR=Green] Well we most assuredly want to see Buchert Gardens in Victoria if we can work it out. The small sample they have of the gardens in the Canada Pavilion in Epcot has us wanting more of the gardens ;)

We love to see historic sites, love any seaside/coast, love antiquated shopping areas. How's the Aquarium? Worth doing? Are there boat trips out in the bay/harbor of things like that?

Oh...where do we find the absolute best: 1: Creme Brulee, 2: Steak, 3: Seafood? Not neccessarily in the order mind you ;)

Where might you recommend for a Wedding Night Dinner for our small intimate group of about 8?

Thanks for everything!

rent a boat at Granville Island and grab a picnic lunch and explore our city from a boat? Boat Rentals-604-682-6287

Victoria and Butchart Gardens are a long way for one day unless you fly.

Grouse Mountain has a terrific city view and the restaurant is good.

The Best of in Vancouver!!

Creme Brulee - I don't much care for this stuff, but, Seasons in QE Park does it very well - they also have a wicked view of Vancouver - excellent service and really great wine list. (their sea bass is to die for)

Steak - You could settle for Mortons, but the Vancouver favourite is Gotham Steakhouse - pricy but good - I had the smaller filet mignon last time I was there and it was super!

Seafood - Hands down 'C' presentation if great, food is delish, and service fantastic. Local favourite a good 15 - 20 minutes out of the downtown core is the Cannery as well. You could also try some other options...Bridges, Sandbar, Carderos, Monk McQueens

Have Fun!
