A couple of years ago, there was a close battle for ownership of Princess. RCI was in the middle of a deal to buy her, and then, at the last minute, Carnival came in and took over with a higher bid.

Carnival now owns Princess.

Thanks for the info - just won a free lunch from a bet! One of the guys at work was swearing up and down that RCCL was Princess's sister cruise line and I knew it was Carnival!
