Rubinof Posted July 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2006 Does anyone know, where, exactly, the Zenith is berthed, at the Tampa, Fla. terminal??? I need a link, to the Tampa Pier, as well, if anyone has had experience, with this. Many thanks, in advance.
signman Posted July 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2006 Zenith would normally be at Pier 3 or 6.. Just google Port of Tampa and you'll find all the information you need. What exact information are you looking for? It's all here on these boards - do a search for Tampa.

Rare mahdnc Posted July 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2006 Rubinof, When we sailed aboard Horizon out of Tampa last year, she was berthed at Pier 3 (next to the aquarium as Seabee said, twice). Here is a photo taken from our Marriott Tampa Waterside Hotel room looking east towards Horizon after she arrived and docked. The building with the curved, terraced roof right in front of Horizon's bow is the Florida Aquarium. The St Pete Times Forum is in the foreground, to the left. There was a Carnival ship (Inspiration?) which occupied the empty berth just to the right of the building complex with the "Channelside" sign. Rare hcat Posted July 27, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 27, 2006 Thank youfor the great photo of port area--Is it walking diatnce from that hotel to the Channelside shops? --we may fly in a day ahead (to be sure) & going to the shops might be nice for our day--How did you like the Marriot? Is there a shuttle from the hotel to the ship?
Rare mahdnc Posted July 27, 2006 #10 Share Posted July 27, 2006 We took a cab from the Tampa airport (TPA) and the pier/hotel. I think it was about $20 each way. The Marriott has an airport shuttle, but at a cost of $11 pp. For our family of 4, a taxi was far cheaper. Although the ride is short, we also took a taxi from the hotel to the pier because of all the luggage. Yes, the Channelside shops are within easy walking distance from the hotel. We found a nice Starbucks-like coffee shop for breakfast there. The Florida Aquarium is also within walking distance (which we did). There is a charming public streetcar trolley system that runs by the hotel and goes to points beyond the Florida Aquarium (Tampa streetcar map). The tracks for the trolley are clearly visible in the photo--they are to the left of the road. We never got around to using the streetcar system during our short stay in Tampa. As far as the hotel is concerned, we very much liked it. The rooms are nice and have a balcony. Getting a room which faced the pier was very easy.
