How do you get the lowest fare?

Recommended Posts

I have cruised twice with RCCL and have never felt I got the lowest fare. It used to be that you could wait until close to sailing time and get a deal, but now it seems earlier booking is best. Any suggestions? Can some travel agents get better deals than others? Any info is appreciated.

I have found the BEST deals are those that come right after the final payment is due - about 2 mo out. That only works if you are totally flexible - ship, cabin, itinerary. Airfare also has their sales around this time too. IF you book way in advance, you are going to get the ship, cabin you want, but some sales that come up after booking are for NEW bookings only and you just have to keep checking to see if one is good for you.

Save the link and you will be able to see the weekly specials. These are not specials for travel agents only. If you go to RCI's website and make your own reservations these are the prices you will get. That's why they ask if any one is over 55 and what state you live in. Also, only one person in the cabin needs to be over 55 or a resident of a specific state to get the discount for each person in the cabin. We booked the Rhapsody last week for $499 per person for an outside cabin. It was cheaper to cruise for 1 week than to go to Vegas for 4 days.

Lately I have been booking early & seem to get good deals, until my upcoming Sov. cruise. I booked it last Feb & it was costing about $250pp for 3 of us. A Sr. discount came along a couple weeks ago & our total for 3 people dropped to $484. Much lower & they'd be paying ME to cruise!:D

Once I do book though I am checking the RCCL website everyday, sometimes 2-3 times a day, just love saving money!
