joey1 Posted August 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Is it possible to get to the pier and request an upgrade if available. If so are there any better deals? If I would decide to upgrade (balcony to suite) prior to leaving but after paying in full and receiving docs, is that still possilbe, how does it work? Thanks for the help! lvtotrvl1 Posted August 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Usually by the time you are at the pier , the rooms have been fully accounted for. If you want to upgrade before cruising, you would just pay the difference between you category and the category you would like to upgrade to. Au48 Posted August 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Bottom line, these days on Carnival, you will not be able to upgrade at the pier. As far as a complimentary upgrade to a suite from balcony? Don't count on it. Unless they desparately need YOUR room for some reason, they won't upgrade you "just because." If you selected a specific cabin, there is virtually no chance to get upgraded. If you booked TBA, there not a very good chance either, but a better chance than if you picked out your room. If you want a suite, the best thing to do is go ahead and pay to upgrade to one. Suites usually sell quicker, so they may be sold out closer in to the cruise.
