Past Cruisers going on the Miracle BEWARE!

Hi,

We got overlooked on one of our cruises a couple of years ago, and did'nt give it a second thought. I went to the casino instead and won a 9,000.00 jackpot on a slot machine. If it takes being overlooked to win money in the casino, I hope to be over looked on all. LOL!!!

I'v never sailed on Carnival but if I don't get some of that popcorn & little sausage rolls, I'm NEVER going to sail on that line.

:confused:Hey what are you doing on our board:confused: I guess there isn't to much on your board to read that is interesting? Just Kidding, the more the merrier!:p :p :p :p

Gee, I guess maybe on my second cruise I might have been looking forward to the party but now, it is usually when I want to do something else...like maybe, sit on the balcony with a bottle of champange...I would not allow anything so petty to upset me after having a wonderful 7 days away from work and every day life. As for the purser's desk. Has anyone thought that maybe due to a language difference, when they asked what you wanted them to do about it, that they actually expected you to give them a suggestion? Maybe, you could pull out your pics of the cruise and find some memory that was worth more that this one? Try not to sweat the small stuff and enjoy your next cruise a bit more. Now, where is that popcorn?

Sometimes it works out - sometimes it doesn't. If someone told you life is always fair - they lied. The party is no big deal - not worth spoiling a cruise for sure.

You are soooo right.

I like to get the pins from each ship I go on though.

I know this should go on another topic but do four and five day cruises have the past guests parties? And can you get the pins if they don't?

The invitations should have been delivered to your stateroom by your room steward. He/she dropped the ball on that one. Sorry you felt that your concerns were not met with compassion by the staff. However, I don't quite understand why the oversight had you so upset. We find the past guest party quite boring and always skip it.

I have only gone to two. I just like the pin. Im with you its no big deal

5 days and longer, most times. i say that b/c i never did get a fantasy pin b/c when i sailed her she had just begun doing 5ntrs and no pins were made for her. (btw, does anyone know if they have them yet?)

if you miss getting ship's lapel pins on your cruise, for whatever reason, when you shld have rec'd them, you can always write to guest relations with your pg #, ship and sail date. they will mail them to you.

Can anyone say the words "DRAMA QUEEN OR DRAMA KING" as the case may be. First of all, although there would be disappointment that you didn't get the invite, to let it completely ruin your vacation just says you are tough to please and that you easily let something out of your control ruin a wonderful vacation you've worked hard towards all year!

Secondly, you say that the purser's desk possibly blamed the steward and because you liked the steward and asked them about it, the steward blamed the establishment (in this case the pursers desk). Did you even consider that maybe the steward was lying?? Or that maybe it was clearly just an accidental oversight considering how many of these invitations they do every cruise!

Thirdly, you have the title of this thread as if the Miracle and it's crew are the problem, but I've seen the same type of thing happen on threads of all the ships so why single out the Miracle as if they did something horrible to you??? It's a fabulous ship with great service, food, etc. Sounds like you took an unfortunate mistake and turned it into a HUGE problem. I'd also bet that since your tone came across this board as so angry that you probably talked about it to your family or friends you were cruising with (and anyone else that would listen) and probably ruined your cruisemates cruise because of your whining! It's just a small guest party, not the party of the century!!

Take a deep breath! Get a grip! Book another cruise! BUT STOP LETTING IT EAT AWAY AT YOU!!!

(OK, I'm ready for popcorn to come my way now)

Only cruises 5 days and longer get the pins and have the past guest party. However, on our 4 day trip on the Ecstasy in May, I asked our cabin steward for them, and he was able to get some for us.

You forgot the iron to keep the jeans wrinkle free and don't forget about the candles in the room to compensate for the smoking. :D :p

I used to smuggle my booze in the water tank of the iron, but I gave that up. I now smuggle my booze in the fuel tank of my Colman lantern. But on my next cruise, I will forgo smuggling booze entirely. I now have a portable Still that I set up on the balcony and use the iron as the heat source.

What does this have to do about the past guest party... well, nothing really.

Wow, thats all I can say, I've been to several past guest parties and there is no socialization at them you go in get a seat take a drink maybe get some free oriderves, and then the cd comes out and talks about the history of the line some lines show a movie for about 5 minutes then introduce the captain and so on maybe give out some free stuff like key rings you can buy for $0.10 any where. and thats it party over get out. You really diden't miss anything, and as far as them sending the OP a bottle of champagne what happened to it did you leave it at the desk or drink it. And do you really think your son was that upset or did you make him that upset because you diden't get to go.

Now where is the popcorn, I hope there is some fresh stuff left otherwise I'm going to demand compensation, a upgrade, they let me drive the ship, and maybe if I'm nice I won't make them give me 3 cruises for free next time.

Yuck it's stale where is the Captain....
