Looking at booking a hotel on hotwire for the first time and a little nervous.

I need a hotel for May 2nd and Hotwire Secret hot rate hotel is giving me:

Condado area

95% recommended

4*

regularly $214 now $134

resort fee of about 20%

free internet

near beach, fitness center, pools, restaurants, business center, self-service laundry & golf nearby

Any ideas what it may be???

Thanks!

Although you can never be 100% sure about the hot rate deals, I think this is the La Concha. This is the same description that was posted when I won the La Concha:) You can always check with better bidding they seem to have a great track record at figuring out which hotel it is. Good luck.

Those amenities are different than what was posted for La Concha when I booked. Mine were: Free Internet, Resort, Near beach, Casino, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness centerPool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking.

As Dymediva suggested go to betterbidding to see their list of hotels or you can sign in and ask them questions.

Good luck!

I need help in understanding...If I bid for a motel (Old San Juan) and they accept my bid but I don't like the hotel can I cancel the bid at anytime? Or am I committed?

When you place a bid on priceline you enter your credit card information at the same time. If your bid is accepted - then you have 'won' that hotel/room and the 'name' of the hotel is then revealed to you. The amount that was bid/accepted is automatically charged to your credit card..and no you can't cancel as you are now committed. Otherwise you lose your $$$

Well, I took my chances and won my first Priceline bid. I wanted a hotel in the same area as my friends are staying, which is the Isla Verde/Carolina area. They are at the Hampton Inn but we just can't swing over $200 not including resort fees.

Got the Verdanza for $117.92 total including taxes/fees. Says it's about a 5 minute walk to beach and 10 minute walk to the Hampton...we'll find out. Check-in 4/19/15 and out 4/20/15.

I'm not sure why I am stressing over this so much. It's only for one-night post cruise, LOL.

Happy Sailing everyone!

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how far in advance we should try to bid on priceline/hotwire? I'm cruising in october, is it too early to try?

Usually I wait until the last minute, but this year I booked on Hotwire about a month ago for my cruise in July. I wanted a specific hotel because I am attending a wedding there before the cruise. It appeared hotwire had the 4* hotel at a good price, so I went ahead and booked. Checking the prices today, 4* hotels are a little more expensive - guess that could change closer to the date. Okay, bottom line: I really don't know.:o

I don't know anything about the Verdanza but for the price you got it should be more than fine. Great price and, like you said, it's only one night. Come back and let us know how you liked it.

The Verdanza was fantastic!! I would definitely stay there again.

Staff was beyond kind and hurried to get us into our room far earlier than the 3:00 check-in. Very nice pool and splash area, which we enjoyed while waiting for our room.

Four dining options on site, with dozens more within walking distance. Huge 24 hour grocery store just down the street w/ prices equal to or less than at home. Also a Walgreens right behind the hotel. Nice public beach entrance 2 blocks away.

Room was very spacious and beds/bedding were heavenly. We were on the 5th floor with a wonderful oceanview. They also gave us two beds, which they didn't have to do. A/C ran nice and cold.

Taxi cost for 2 people w/ 4 bags from RCL port was $25. Taxi cost for 2 people w/ 4 bags to the airport was $16.

  • 1 month later...

Last week I went through Priceline's Express Deals, 3 1/2 stars, Isle Verde Area, and almost was positive I was going to get the Verdanza for 10/28 through 10/31 and I did, final cost for three nights with taxes was $355.00 and also included the travelers' insurance.

We stayed there last year for three nites and didn't hesitate to stay there again

Cruising out of San Juan in January 2016 on the day the San Sebastian Festival starts. Have had reservation at Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel and Casino (right at Carnival pier) booked direct with Sheraton because we really wanted this hotel. Been checking Hotwire multiple times daily for over 3 months; only a few Old San Juan hotels, like Casablanca. Today, Sheraton Old San Juan showed up for the first time. Got it for $114 + tax and resort fee. Have now cancelled original reservation and saved ~$160. Patience and persistence can pay off. First time booking with Hotwire (or any bidding site). Good luck!
