AlainBob Posted October 7, 2006 #26 Share Posted October 7, 2006 OK-what am I doing wrong. I bought a Garmin nuvi 350 and on a recent Carribean cruise it only picked up occasionally. Do I need to leave it out on the balcony? We bought it for an upcoming Med cruise (we still have to buy the European map), but now I am wondering if it is worth the additional expense. Thanks for any help you can throw my way. Pam As others said, you have to be outside to pick up satellite signals. Take a look at the pictures I uploaded with this post. You'll see that I use some duct tape to attach my GPS carrying pouch to the balcony rail. That way, I do not need an external antenna. It works fine for me on our last two cruises... Alain R. AlainBob Posted October 7, 2006 #27 Share Posted October 7, 2006 What kind of camera did you use on the pictures of the Sun Princess? Great resolution ! WOnderful pictures ! Thanks ! Sorry if I didn't reply sooner. I was on a business trip and didn't have time to look at the Cruise Critics boards for a while... I use a Canon Powershot A620 (7.1 Megapixel). It's very easy to use and it gives me very good results. Alain R.
