MCManders99 Posted October 2, 2006 #27 Share Posted October 2, 2006 The overall Princess experience - everything is the best! Ron I agree, even though I have only been on 1 cruise, it was the overall experience DH and I had on our honeymoon. We loved it soo much we are going on a W Carib on the Star in April. We'll buy another cruise credit and save for our 5yr Anniv. in 2010..Alaska again. Princess has us hooked!
oinkmaster Posted October 2, 2006 #28 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Some of things I took away that were the best: The entertainment overall in the theater was outstanding :D Afternoon tea:try getting this elegant activity on Carnival  Our room was by far the nicest(except the shower!) The understated elegance of the ship itself :)
Pam in CA Posted October 3, 2006 #29 Share Posted October 3, 2006 OK... what I like about Princess: -- Future Cruise Sales -- what a deal! -- The Captains Circle program albeit I'd prefer if they based it on days cruised. -- The variety of interesting itineraries at affordable prices -- The excellent service in the traditional dining room where all you have to do is ask. -- The self-service laundries on every ship. (I'm going on an 18-day HAL cruise next summer and don't look forward to having to bring clothes for all those days or send out everything.) Pam in CA Posted October 3, 2006 #30 Share Posted October 3, 2006 And the rest you're charged an arm and a leg for! yikes!!:eek:Huh? There's great ice cream every day for lunch... and again for dinner. HOURS of delicious free ice cream.
Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted October 3, 2006 #31 Share Posted October 3, 2006 Itineraries (longer than 7 nights, all over the world) Anytime Dining 24 hour buffet Self serve laundries Not the best quality in any one category, i.e. food, service, ships, etc. (of the cruise lines I've been on), but definitely the best number of options and variety, and consistently good overall. We call it the WalMart of cruising (something for everyone, at a good price), which is fine with us, since we spend way more time shopping at WalMart than Nordstroms. Sandytoes Posted October 3, 2006 Author #33 Share Posted October 3, 2006 The overall Princess experience - everything is the best! You are absolutely right on this... MUTS - found on no other ships No other ship in the industry offers the flexibility, food and entertainment. No other industry has been growing so rapidly Princess has what it takes to appeal to all ages: cutting-edge Princess has been at the top when it comes to shows Princess has grown to become one of the premiere cruise lines in the world Fantastic destinations Outstanding value Passenger Satisfaction ratings of 98% and higher, and numerous safety and environmental honors--more than any other cruise line But, the best Princess experience is having a lifetime of wonderful memories
Kruznut Posted October 3, 2006 #34 Share Posted October 3, 2006 I think Princess offers the best past passenger perks. I love my free internet access. I definately do not place Princess in the Wal Mart of cruises category. I think they're one of the best lines in the cruising business. Just my humble two cents worth. coiran Posted October 3, 2006 #35 Share Posted October 3, 2006 How can everything be the best? The rude "Brownie Fights" was most definitely not a great experience. The rough seas on the outskirts of a hurricane mid-August that the Crown sailed through sounded awful. Most definitely the 7/11 list was life-changing!!!!! The Grand list, the Star fire. The list goes on... Please, tell me what you mean by "everything." I really would love to hear all that you have to say. I guess we were lucky, we were not on any of those cruises, were you? Besides, the original OP asked for the best on Princess not the presumed worst. Everything is just what it means - "everything". Ron

Oh no...NCL is the Big Lots of cruising! Just kidding, okay. Really. I haven't been on NCL in 6 years. Of course, I only went on one NCL cruise.... And, as long as we're discussing it... camperhawk Posted October 3, 2006 #37 Share Posted October 3, 2006 Started my cruising experience with Rccl explorer, wonderfiul ship..great for a 17 year old son. Then did Norwegian, also nice ship, just didn't feel comfortable, but still a great cruise! We then went on the Star..Lovely! I thought I would try all the line but Princess has brought me back

We have cruised on other lines but we are back with Princess and look forward to many sailings with this line. hamptod Posted October 3, 2006 #50 Share Posted October 3, 2006 The overall Princess experience - everything is the best! In the interest of fairness, it appears that "everything" is not the best per your recent review of the Crown Princess. Taken from your review. "French toast and pancakes were a little crusty. Toast machine did not toast at all. We decided to have breakfast in the main dining room one day only to find out that it closes at 9:30 in the morning. So, on another day we were up early enough to go. We found out that its exactly the same food served in the Horizon Court. Nothing different. That was disappointing." "Cabin: The fluffy duvets covers were much to be desired. Did not cover feet and had to keep repositioning it, waking up several times over the night." "Safe was impossible. While in the open stage it would continue to beep. One time it would not open at all and had to call for service. Needed to call three times to get someone up to service." "Water never got cold. Turning off TV with remote was a little difficult because if you press the power button off it would turn on again. Had to press several times to turn off. The cabinet in which the Refrigerator is located is extremely warm. Had to keep the cabinet door open to get the refrigerator cold." This does not sound like "everything" is perfect to me. Just keeping it balanced. Hamptod
