Formal, Informal casual? How many!! Plus other questions!

Does anyone know how many formal nights there will be on the Caribbean cruise departing december 2nd? This is being sold as a 14 night trip to UK customers and as 2 separate 7 day vacations to American guests so am unsure how they will work it with regards to number of formals v casual etc. In addition, as it is one cruise for certain passengers and separate for others will they repeat menus in the second week or will Cunard recognise that some of us will have been onboard for a week already. When we return to Fort Lauderdale to disembark some passengers and pick up those joining the ship- will we be able to stay on board or will they make everyone get off?

Thanks for your help!

Well, you should check your packets from Cunard about formal nights... They seem to release that closer to your voyage ("cruise" doesn't really fit the QM2, even when she isn't "crossing").

That said, you should presume 3 formal nights for each segment. At least. But, remember, if you get tired of the formal nights, you can loaf in your stateroom and go to the Deck 7 eateries for food.

Yes, they let you stay on board. We were on for three segments and enjoyed the fact we were staying on. Though you can also get off and go trek around. I don't know what there is to see in Ft. Lauderdale, but there MUST be websites.

Enjoy

Will they repeat menus in the second week?

I don't know about the QM2, but on the QE2 they don't have a set series of menus that they repeat - A lot of the menu isn't finalised until a few days before it's eaten.

We are doing a back to back on 28th October (2 Dinners to Zeebrugge and then 18 Dinners to the Med)

and our tickets indicate:

Zeebrugge

1 formal (presume it's after the day onshore-glad we are in Caronia and our dinner time is flexible)

Mediterranean

7 formals

10 semi-formals

1 casual (assuming this will be Alexandria/Giza after the 9.00pm sailing)

we have 8 portdays and 9 full sea days

My wife has been wondering if there will be anything special for Halloween but as this is our first full sea day we think it will likely be the Captain's Reception.

Hi Bonni99....We are on the Dec 2nd cruise as well. We have a very active Roll Call going on the roll call forum if you'd care to stop by and chat with us. We've been chatting about this cruise since last Dec so it's gotten pretty long. Lots of good information being shared as we have help from a few previous QM2 pax. We're all waiting for our docs which hopefully will be arriving any minute and that should tell us what to expect as far as dress requirements. From what I'm told by someone who made this cruise before we should have 2 formal nights but plan for 3 just in case. Hope you'll stop by and meet our congenial group...we're having a lot of fun anticipating this adventure.

Cheers, Penny
