laodell Posted July 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2004 Fort St. Catherine's Beach is a really nice beach...Long strip of soft white sand and clear water. The Fort is close by and if you're into that, you can walk through it. Tobacco Bay is good for snorkling but it gets really crowded.
Jeanne S Posted July 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2004 Try the Turtle Bay catamaran excursion, which takes you to a secluded beach in the afternoon.
cberge Posted July 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2004
we have hamilton pretty well done but what beaches and what things should we do in st george
Since the beach question's were answered,St.George has some neat winding streets with some cute shops off of them, some nice places to grab a bite to eat,and some great art galleries. There is also a small civil war museum, and of course a few T-shirt shops along the way....:)The high speed ferry runs from there to Hamilton. It's the olderst part of Bermuda and quite small hence quieter as well.Enjoy..:D

redzilla Posted July 18, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2004 I agree walking through St. George is lovely, I would not want to miss: Somer's Garden, Unfinished Cathedral, and St. Peter's Church. The guide books list some nice self-guided walking tours. We walked to the above, starting from Ordnance Island with a 3 & 5 year old. It is uphill to the Unfinished Cathedral but we enjoyed the alleys, streets, and views.

Host Kewlguy Posted September 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 17, 2004 Clearwater Beach beats Fort St. Catherine's Beach hands down in my humble opinion.

JD75 Posted August 11, 2005 #13 Share Posted August 11, 2005 Clearwater beach is located near the airport. If you're leaving St. George on Mullet Bay road, when you cross the drawbridge and get to the first rotary take the first road off the rotary (they'll be a sign for Clearwater Beach)

NewEnglander Posted August 12, 2005 #15 Share Posted August 12, 2005 I hear there's a new bus route from St. Georges that goes there now. It's so new that it's not even on the schedules yet ... We are definitely planning to go! I know exactly where it's located now - we explored in that area on our last trip... Again, thanks!
