CroozBlooz Posted October 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Ok...I'm a glutton for punishment. We were booked on the Star for the October 7 sailing, and due to a very unfortunate situation, we had to cancel earlier this week. I'm interested in hearing from anyone on board as to how it's going and what we are missing.

MNYTRPS2GO2 Posted October 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Whatever you do don't look at the bridgecam:mad: I had to cancel the day before our Panama Canal cruise. For 10 days I watched the cam but did realize I really was too sick to make the trip... jennew Posted October 8, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2006 I am so sorry you had to cancel. Start planning your next cruise ASAP...
CroozBlooz Posted October 8, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted October 8, 2006 The reason for canceling was a serious illness of a loved one that does not fit within the definition for insurance coverage, which is why we purchase the Princess Travel Care Gold protection. So we will get a 90% credit toward another cruise. And we are already looking...perhaps later this year!
Sandytoes Posted October 9, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Can you tell us what serious illness of a loved one that doesn't fit within the definition for insurance coverage? ? ? ? That's sad.... Not only cancelling your cruise but not reimbursed for the whole fare.....But, at least you were wise enough to purchase insurance.... My suggestion would be not to hear from anyone on board as to how it's going and what you are missing. But rather, start searching for your next cruise.... That's more exciting..... I'm also glad to hear you had the Travel Care Gold so you could "postpone" rather than do without your cruise.
CroozBlooz Posted October 9, 2006 Author #9 Share Posted October 9, 2006 The cancellation has to be due to an injury or sickness to you, your traveling companion or a member of your immediate family. Immediate family is defined as "children (including step or adopted), children-in-law, parents, step-parents, parents-in-law, siblings, step-siblings, siblings-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, legal or common law spouse, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, legal guardian, ward, business partner or domestic partner. We've got many other loved ones who are not covered by this definition. Interestingly, the trip cancellation coverage for Princess Travel Care is "underwritten" by Princess. You would think they would be a bit more generous with their definition.
