Puffinater Posted October 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2006 I have read several posts concerning the Champagne card. We are not Champagne drinkers so I never checked it out. On our upcoming cruise we will be with friends who enjoy it. We would appreciate any information on the cards. Thanks
Rare xpcdoojk Posted October 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2006 Never heard of it. Of course, I have only cruise one time with RCI this year and that was February, maybe they have introduced it since then. However, since I have never heard of it and I read this forum regularly, I would love to hear about it too. :D jc
ChristieNJ Posted October 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2006 You can get it for $43.13, which include gratuities. I'm definitely getting in for my next cruise!!! :D

ChoosinCruisin Posted October 10, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2006 Oh and that's for 10 champagne drinks by the way. Is this available on all ships?
ChristieNJ Posted October 10, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2006 Is this available on all ships? That I don't know for sure. I know on Freedom and Voyager classes it is, and I was assume it would be standard, but you know what they say about assumptions!!! LOL
KarinaGW Posted October 10, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 10, 2006 The card is also only good in the Champagne Bar, so I would guess that the ship would have to have one or an equivalent in order to have the card. Christie, I know you've seen it, but for the OP and others, here's the cocktails you can get with the card: http://www.cafekarina.org/explorer/scans/misc/pages/champcard.htm
Viking Lad Posted October 10, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 10, 2006 :p Champagne card, you say? YOU JUST MADE MY DAY! Thank you for this valuable tip! ;)
parrotthead Posted October 10, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 10, 2006 On the Splendour the 'card' was as follows: you pay for 6 champagne cocktails and you get a punch card good for 7...I blew thru 2 of them on a 4 night! However in July on the Serenade they did not offer it...so it depends on the ship.:( I'll be on the Majesty in a couple weeks, so I'll report back~!:p ;)
Cruise Gopher Posted October 10, 2006 #11 Share Posted October 10, 2006 They did NOT advertise this on the Radiance. I definately would have purchased this.
jillybabes Posted October 10, 2006 #12 Share Posted October 10, 2006 "They" have never advertised this on the Mariner either, will have to check it out in Dec...or does someone who just returned know if it is available??? Later, Jill:cool:

KarinaGW Posted October 10, 2006 #17 Share Posted October 10, 2006 It wasn't advertised heavily on the Explorer either. I read it on Page 2 of Day 1's Cruise Compass under Food & Drink. I think I saw a sign or two, but that's pretty much it.
Carol51 Posted October 11, 2006 #18 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Thanks for the tip! If they use fairly good quality chamagne (ok, sparkling wine) this could make up for my diappointment in their wine list and prices. Does anyone know what they use? Korbel is fine, but some of the "champagnes" they serve at champagne brunches are really bad. Anyone know what they use? Hope they have it on the Vision. That would make my trip. (not that much of a drinker, but with RCCLs new restrictive rules about bring on ANY of your own wine, I've become obsessed with it.) Cheers! beachfanatic Posted October 11, 2006 #20 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Also if you want to save a couple of extra $$$ buy it after you set sail otherwise you will have to florida state tax.

KillaFee Posted October 11, 2006 #22 Share Posted October 11, 2006 This champagne card sounds great but it's sorta too bad you can only us it in the champagne bar....maybe they put it out there as a way to bring more traffic there? On the Vision class ships there's always an abundance of people there but I've noticed it's never as busy on Voyager class ships, can't remember how busy the ones on Radiance are....just wondering. All this talk about champagne....too bad package stores here close @ 9pm in CT (it's 9:30pm now) because I could sure go for a cold glass of bubbly right now! Also....do you know if it was just for one type of champagne or were there some choices? Thanks! Laura
KarinaGW Posted October 11, 2006 #23 Share Posted October 11, 2006 They had other choices of champagne, but as I was quite happy with the cocktails and my wine package, I didn't notice what they were. sorry. now, you've inspired me to pull the champagne out of my fridge and have a glass. gambler Posted October 11, 2006 #24 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Can you use one card to buy drinks for everyone in your group?
Merion_Mom Posted October 11, 2006 #25 Share Posted October 11, 2006 gambler, since the card is for a certain set number of drinks, and not for unlimited usage, I doubt that they care WHO is drinking those drinks! ;)
