We booked a gty and there is also 3 of use in the room.

The key to a gty is booking something you would be happy with, the only difference between an 8A and 8E is height off the water, if that is important to you, then you can hope for an upgrade, all Conquest balconies rooms are identical, and there are no obstructed views it is just location on the ship that is important. Just make sure you are not over or under some loud public area.

If you booked an 8A and have an 8D, highly unlikely you would get another upgrade, although possible you could be moved again, if you have your docs with your room number, there is practically no chance you will move, if you have your docs and it still says gty, you could be moved - up or down.

We booked an 8A on the Liberty, showed an 8E on the website, and were moved back to an 8A on the day of sailing, we had to go to the pursers desk to get S&S cards because they moved us that morning and did not have them at check in. Just the nature of a gty.

On a Conquest class, I personally view the Empress Deck (8B) as the most coveted deck - there is a reason that is where all the Cat 12's are;)
