NickyLouise Posted July 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2004 Has anybody ever booked a tour through cozumel homes? Im considering the Tulum Xel-ha tour they offer. Give me your advice or opinions please !! :)
Shaken_Bake Posted July 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2004 Is Cozumelhomes a timeshare outfit? Check out the thread I referenced in my earlier answer to you about traveling to Tulum(http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/...54&m=1553078686); the original poster did her trip to Tulum by attending a time share presentation. If money is really that tight, then it might be a good alternative, although I'd never, ever attend timeshare presentation unless there were a gun to my head!!! NickyLouise Posted July 18, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted July 18, 2004 Hmmm... not that I know of... e-mailed them, asked about the tour, they said nothing about a presentation. 110 bucks for the tour.
Shaken_Bake Posted July 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2004 Oh, for $110, there'd better not be a timeshare presentation! The name of the group just led me to believe it might be. You may want to compare the price your ship's excursion; would it be much more than that? Also, would the timing be compatible with the ship's arrival/departure? NickyLouise Posted July 18, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted July 18, 2004 The ship just offers a Tulum tour, not Xel-ha. And Im there all day, 7am-12am. Thank you :D
sportsterjohn Posted July 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2004 I booked my dunebuggy tour through them for my cruise back in march. No mention of a timeshare or any sales pitch. I think they are independant of the tour companies and just get a small commission for selling the tours for the vendors.
ScubaMare Posted July 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2004 Cozumel Homes is not a timeshare firm. Among their services are property management, vacation home rental, and the jungle dune buggy tour. They own the dune buggy tour. Dan Withington is the owner. Very nice guy! In fact, he builds the dune buggies. You won't have to sit through any sort of presentation. Just book your dune buggy trip and you're ready to go. They won't try to sell you anything else.
sportsterjohn Posted July 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 19, 2004 ok, I stand corrected but as scubamare mentioned, there is no kind of sales pitch or any time share type of stuff to deal with if you book the dunebuggy tour through the cozumelhomes website.
