?? about luggage - Post cruise

I have a question about our luggage after the cruise. Our ship gets in to port in the morning but our flight out of Fort Lauderdale is not until 5:30pm. We would like to take some time to tour around the city, maybe go to the beach, but have no idea if we will be able to do this with all of our luggage. Is there any option for leaving our luggage some place safe until we are ready to go to the airport?

Are you renting a car? If so leave it locked in the car and enjoy your time. Are you sailing into FLL? Take a ship's tour, they end at the airport and take care of your luggage for you while you tour. There are 2-4 tours offered on your ship to end at the FLL airport, pick one and book it. Enjoy a last tour before you head home.

What cruiseline are you sailing? What airline? A few of the cruiselines have a service with a few of the airlines where you pay a fee but they check you in onboard the ship the day before the cruise ends, then after you've taken your luggage through customs, you just drop your bags off with the airline and they take it to the airport for you. When you get to the airport, all you have to do is go through security to get to your gate. This service is offered through Royal Caribbean and Celebrity and in connection with a few airlines including American.

FLL can be a real zoo depending on how many ships are in port on any given day.

Personally with a 5:30 flight I would still be at the airport by 3:30.

We have used the luggage check service from Celebrity to American Airlines. It worked fine. I think the cost was $20 per person with a maximum of 2 bags per person.

We have also used a dayroom at one of the hotels near Port Everglades whe we had a late flight on our return.
