Halifax Driving Tour

Recommended Posts

IMHO, the best scenery you could see in a short time is by driving down the South Shore toward Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg. The road hugs the shore and it's very pretty.

Seebea, I live in Halifax and a drive to Fundy Bay would be too long. It's on the other side of the province. At least a 3 to 4 hour drive each way.

I agree that some of the best touring outside Halifax is Peggy's Cove and Lunnenburg and Mahone Bay, on the south shore. Lunnenburg and Mahone Bay are quaint towns with beautiful scenery, great restaurants and fun shopping. Also staying in Halifax is a great thing to do. There's lots within walking distance of the ship. We also have many lakes and ocean beaches that are within an hour's drive (but the Atlantic Ocean is a little cold here).

Here's an good website with lots of info: http://www.novascotia.com/

Hope it helps.
