Advise on Port Canaveral

We are cruising on RCL Mariner in January 2005, looking for advise on how to get to Port Canaveral. Choice of Flying to Melbourne FL or Orlando then transportation to Port Canaveral.

Does any one know about the Melbourne Airport. Is the service provided by the airlines dependable.

I live in the melbourne area and sail of port canaveral most times..melbourne airport is a up-to date facility and only 15-20 miles from the port..most flights go to orlando ..if you can get a good ticket price for melbourne go for it..plenty of transport to the port from airport..a lot less crowded too good luck...
