Princess Cay Question

Princess Cays is a fun, free, beach day!! A not-to-be-missed port!

A few things:

I've heard that inside the cabanas is hot and not worth reserving one.

As others have mentioned, there is quite a bit of shade where you can pull the chairs under a tree. And hammocks.

The BBQ is so-so, but saves a trip back to the ship for lunch.

The coke sticker doesn't work on P Cays as they have no fountain drinks, only cans and bar offerings.

Water toys and snorkel equipment and fish food can be rented at the beach. (well, you don't rent the fish food exactly)

Take a box of cereal from the buffet to feed the fishies if you plan to snorkel, they'll be all over you and it's loads of fun!

How is the snorkeling at the island? Worth renting gear? Thanks

That kind of depends on it you have snorkeled a lot in the past. There is a snokeling section, but after trying it our first or second time at Princess Cays, we don't even bother to take our snorkel gear onshore anymore, just not worth the effort.

But if you are new to snorkeling, then it is a good place for beginners.

The snorkeling isn't great. We bring our own equipment--just masks and snorkels, no fins.

We stayed on the ship during the morning and had lunch in the dining room rather than fight the lines for tender tickets. I think our tenders were slowed up a bit by high winds and rough water. As we were sailing through the night before, I wondered because of the weather if the ship would be able to stop. I was glad we did. And since we waited until after lunch to go, we did not have any problems finding chairs in the shade since many people had started coming back by then.
