Good decision???

I chose to upgrade to an oceanview gty H from an inside J (deck 8). Just realized oceanview coud be deck 4+. Is it still a good choice? Used Amex points for payment but won't know assignment till we get there.

I'd rather have an oceanview than an inside room. Which ship? I thought the crew was on the 4th fl on the Pearl, Jewel as well as the med. center.

I think you did great! I'd have made the same choice. Have to have a window so I can see what's going on outside. Even look out at night at the waves. Have a great trip!

I would rather have the window and be on a lower deck, but I guess everyone is different. Hey, you're going on a cruise! What's not to love about that? :)

Good choice. Window is always better than inside unless you really like dark rooms for sleeping late.

Also remember, Oceanview could mean fully obstructed. It sounds as though you would be OK with that however, as the fully obstructed are generally on the 8th or 9th deck (depending on ship, obstruction object, etc.)

We had obstr oceanview, 8th fl, Pearl for Christmas and I would still rather have that than an inside room:D. As long as I can see daylight. The obstruction was not bad at all.
