TeacherSus Posted January 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2007 I read a review somewhere on the boards that referred to poker in the casino and a Texas Hold 'Em tournament. Anyone know if there are poker tables in the Grand Princess casino (or poker tournaments)? I mentioned it to my husband who got all excited and now I'm nervous that it was on another ship. If that's the case, we'll just have to stick with Bingo. I never win, but my husband has some serious bingo magic. He won at least 4 times on our last cruise; so often that the old folks would recognize him on the ship and glare at him! Thanks for the info! CruisinCoach Posted January 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2007 Yes, I was on the Grand last week and they had Texas Hold em. I am pretty sure it was held every night. They held satellite tournaments during the week at 10pm with the winner earning a seat at the "main event," which was held Friday night. You could also just pay to be in the Friday tournament. I think it was around $15 for the satellite tournaments and about $80 for the main event.
spongerob Posted January 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2007 The poker room is on the starboard sign of the casino near the entrance from the atrium. It has 4 tables, usually just one is open in the evenings. The satellite tournaments fill up very quickly. Most games are 2-4 or 3-6, occasionally 5-10 by table consent. It is a no-smoking area.
