This will be my first cruise(11 day Hawaii/Fanning Island) and I can't WAIT!!

I think my biggest fear is I am going solo. I'm not worried about the ship, but the shore excursions have me a little concerned.

I just worry that everything will be set up for couples and/or large groups. I don't want to be the 5th wheel if you know what I mean.

Also, a little worried about handling my luggage all by myself, but that should provide humor to anyone watching one person hauling 2 to 3 bags hee-hee!

But I don't care!! I'm heading for sun and fun(just not soon enough)!

We are renting car at most of our stops in Hawaii......my biggest fear is that we will break down or get lost and not make it back to the ship in time??

I know that this will probably not happen....but I am so neurotic about this,I will want to be back way too early.....and in doing so, will miss an extra hour or so that we could have spent sightseeing!

I guess my biggest fear is that my DH won't like the cruise. I have spent 9 years talking him into the cruise and I'm worried that half way through he will say something like...We should have gone Glacier Hiking (his dream vacation)

Also, I have gained alot of weight and I just know that someone will mistake me for a bottle nose dolphin!

And I am about as white as white gets! I don't want to burn!

I am very excited though!!!!:p

My number one concern is luggage. I am an extremely light packer and normally travel with only a carry-on. I also like to keep my case close to me at all times. Leaving it to the whims of stevedores and porters makes me nervous.

I'm not sure I could list all my worries but here's a few biggies..

(1) Won't have correct docs or will lose them.

(2) Taking 2 semi-nieve(sp?) 18 yr old girls out of the country by myself.

(3) One or all of us getting sunburned and having miserable time.

(We're all very fair skinned.)

(4) Giving the girls enough space to have fun but keeping them safe.

(5) Not taking enough money and running out about the 3rd day.

But.......... I'm sure we'll have a blast!!

This is my first post. I'm taking the 4 Day Majesty RCL cruise with my wife, two sons, 9 and 18, friends and their 6 yr old son.

My concerns:

That I will get there and find out that we actually DO need passports.

That I will lose too much in the casino.

That my room in Miami Beach will be a dump, most of those Art Deco places are nasty.

That, in general, everything will be much more expensive than I am planning and I won't have enough cash, and will max my c.c.

I may think of more later, probably will.

My greatest fear on our dream vacation is the safety for me and my daughters travelling alone.

Anyone ever taken a cruise without your hubby?

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one! Kind of nervous about taking my daughter and her friend by myself in June. I've already told her I don't care that she's 18 she will be checking in with me on a regular bases.

I have a lot of the same fears as all of you. We are leaving in just 4 days and I do have a lot of concerns. (NCL Spirit on 3/18 - Florida/Bahamas) The biggest one is the the day we spend in the Bahamas. I've heard from many people that it's not a nice place to visit because it's not clean and that the locals are very pushy. (I wished I had found this board before I booked the cruise) I'm also concerned that we won't know what is free and what isn't and we will end up do dishes for the next four cruises. I also have concerns about what to wear and when. That my child will be entertained and leave me have so fun but we can't forget the weather. Hope all of your cruises are great fun.

I'm going on my first cruise in April.

My biggest fear is that I'll be the chunkiest person on the ship. All the ads show these beautiful, toned, thin, tan people; and I'm a pale, pasty, size 16 gal.

Fat people go on cruises too, right?

I am chunky and am going on my second one!

Anatresia -

Just had to tell you I love the pics of your puppies. My husband & I have two also....one is a shorty hair red (like your babies) and one is a dapple - blond red with white spots - both are male. My biggest worry is leaving them for a week. We are going for 7 day cruise on NCL Dream out of Houston to Progresso, Cozumel and Belize. Hope you have a good cruise.

Hi,

My husband and I are going on our first cruise to the Med at the end of September. I am terrified of flying. I don't like any aspect of it so that is my biggest fear. We're also going to leaving our to young boys for the first time. I've only been away from them for 1 or 2 nights at a time. Sad I know.

I don't want to gain weight either.:p
