Debbierpof Posted January 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2007 We will be in Palermo in July (I know, it'll be a little warm :D ). Has anyone used a guide/driver there? Any recommendations on where to go visit? We will be in port most of the day (8a - 5p). Any chance we could get to Agrigento or am I dreaming? Thanks in advance! Palermo was our fourth port in four days so we found the traffic and pollution a bit overwhelming. We saw the opera house, quatro canti, the cathedral and ran out of puff at the norman palace so we just caught a bus to the nearby village of Monreale. We enjoyed the slower pace there. Even if you are "cathedraled out", the one in Monreale is a must see. We used the bus system, and other than an attempted pickpocket, the locals were very friendly and helpful. Jade13 Posted February 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2007 Can anyone recommend any tour guides in Palermo? We want to get out into the countryside for the day.
bug18 Posted February 4, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2007 Jade13 - I can't recommend a tour guide but I have been investigating this same thing myself. I have gotten a lot of information from driverinrome.com and driverinitaly.com. I have actually booked driver in italy for July when I will be in Palermo.
