Portofino or Chops ?

Is there any way to see what they are having in the dining room before booking at the specialty places. Would not want to miss lobster night.

The specialty restaurants will have the regular dining room menus for the week. Lobster night will usually be one of the formal nights (it's always been the second one for us), but the specialty restaurants will know. So will your waiter in the regular dining room, but you might not want to wait that long to make your reservations.

There is a similar restaurant to Portofinos on Princess. They serve you everything on the menu, it is 20 some plus dishes and then you pick your main course of which one is a seafood sampler with smaller servings of the 5 seafood dishes. Way too much food, and can only be handled if you have flown the redeye and not eaten all day and then make your reservation for the first night. Does Portofinos do the same thing?

Mercifully, no. Portofino has a standard menu from which you order - appetizer/soup/salad, pasta, main course, dessert. You can still overdo it, but it will be entirely your fault!:D I think the food in Portofino is light years ahead of Sabatini's, by the way. Fresher, a nicer presentation and in my experience the service is better, too.
