Sailfish Posted January 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Once you are seated, how much time should be allowed for dinner in the Anytime Dining Rooms? Do you think I need to allow 90 minutes or more? Does Princess have a Captain's Formal Night Cocktail Party?
julieds Posted January 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2007 I'd allow at least 90 minutes; as I recall, dinners usually took us between one and two hours, depending on whether we were dining on our own (two adults and two teens who rarely ordered all courses) or with others (which generally took longer). We also usually dined fairly early (between 6:30 and 7:30); service may have been quicker (or slower) later in the evening. Princess does have a formal night Captain's reception; on our Golden cruise it was on the first formal night (which was also Christmas eve), and there were two parties, one before the first traditional dinner seating and one before the second seating. Those of us with Anytime Dining could go to either (or both!). Servers were passing canapes and rum drinks (which didn't pack much of a punch--they must have been very weak!)... nets33 Posted January 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2007 I'd leave at least 90 minutes. If you like to linger over dessert and coffee it could take longer... we ate between 7:30 and 8:30 on the Star with anytime and we were there a minimum of 90 minutes. :)
Julia’s Journey’s Posted January 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2007 We ate at 8PM everynight and were seldom finished when camp ended at 10PM, there were 9 of us for dinner and it was more our social entertainment fo rthe night so we tended to take it slow and enjoy it:D :D
Sailfish Posted January 24, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Thank you very much - I will plan for 90 minutes. I have copies of the nightly entertainment schedule, so I will plan accordingly. Thanks, Suzi
