bob c Posted January 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Do they allow traveling irons in the cabins? I know they have dry cleaning aboard , but I mean for a quick pressing.
dzboss1 Posted January 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2007 There is a laundry service on board that also does pressing at decent prices. There are no irons allowed on board.
nanfromatlanta Posted January 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Do they allow traveling irons in the cabins? I know they have dry cleaning aboard , but I mean for a quick pressing. RCCL requests that passengers not bring irons of any sort on board. They are considered a fire hazard.
katiel53 Posted January 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Please go to the website and read the faq's regarding ironing. That will answer your question. NO IRONS.
MGoBlue2 Posted January 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2007 I say if a Junior Suite isn't really a suite then a Travel Iron really isn't an iron. :)
tracey980 Posted January 23, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2007 No irons in the room. They do have a laundry service that is quite cheap. We had two pairs of khaki pants pressed for only $3 total. If you wanted them washed and pressed it would be $3 each pair of pants. They pick up in your stateroom and they are ready the next day.
Dick in Falls Church Posted January 23, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Well- I have yet to see a fashion police officer on any of our cruises. Haven't been on all that many cruises, but seldom see any fellow passengers in the local malls. If your pants aren't properly creased, who cares? Not the captain, not the crew, and certainly not the majority of your cruise mates. Of course, my wife would not necessarily agree with the above comments!!! geojobes Posted January 23, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 23, 2007 My wife doen't iron at home! Don't think I could get her to iron on vacation. It costs so little to get it done, we can't be bothered to do it ourselves. It would cut into our precious drinkin' time!

Charles4515 Posted January 24, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Do they allow traveling irons in the cabins? I know they have dry cleaning aboard , but I mean for a quick pressing. They don't want you to bring a travel iron, supposedly for safety. Possibly they want you to spend on their laundry services. I take a steamer for quick pressing since they say nothing about those, even though they are basically the same thing as an iron.
dforeigner Posted January 24, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Have you considered bringing a steamer like this one. I will not work like a regular iron, but at least, it will get rid of some of the mayor wrinkles.
stwr cruiser Posted January 24, 2007 #12 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Ok let me get this straight--no irons allowed? Can you still bring a curling iron? I would think that could be a fire hazard too! Can't you still smoke on board too? Sounds like another way to get our money! Stephanie
YoungPlatinumGuy Posted January 24, 2007 #13 Share Posted January 24, 2007 I will not work like a regular iron, but at least, it will get rid of some of the mayor wrinkles. Mayor wrinkles? Like these? Heh.
WindinmySails Posted January 24, 2007 #14 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Mayor wrinkles? Like these? Heh. That was a good one!! We took a steamer and it worked well. A curling iron won't get hot enough to start a fire, but a regular iron will. Kind of OT.... As for smoking, it is a major fire hazard in cabins. How often have we all read about house fires started by a smoker falling asleep. I think there are enough public areas for smokers to smoke. TahoeBob Posted January 24, 2007 #16 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Do they allow traveling irons in the cabins? I know they have dry cleaning aboard , but I mean for a quick pressing. I use the rum and coke method for getting out wrinkles, if I see a wrinkle I have another rum and coke, I keep doing this untill don't see any more wrinkles
Merion_Mom Posted January 24, 2007 #17 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Wrinkles, sprinkles. Which reminds me........we haven't argued about the soft-serve ice cream machines in a couple of days. Anyone wanna start up? ;)
