Puffinater Posted July 1, 2008 #676 Share Posted July 1, 2008 Hell everyone, Are Aft cabins with balcony more expensive then other balcony cabins. Thank you, George On RCI the price is based on category. For example a D1 can be mid ship or aft and they are the same price the same holds true for other category cabins that are located aft and other locations. sabandmom Posted July 1, 2008 #677 Share Posted July 1, 2008 This is a balcony cabin right over the piano bar. don't book this room if you want to go to sleep early. You can here the music LOUD until 12:30 to 1 am.
serene56 Posted July 1, 2008 #678 Share Posted July 1, 2008 Hell everyone, Are Aft cabins with balcony more expensive then other balcony cabins. Thank you, George depends on what ship George. If looking at Carnival Conquest class or Destiny Victory class- the aft costs the same as the other cabins on the same deck.

serene56 Posted July 1, 2008 #680 Share Posted July 1, 2008 :p Is there noise behind 7353 Empress deck (empty space)? How private are the balconies on Upper deck? Thanks o noise fromt he white area behind your cabin- this is crew stairs-- gets the crew from deck to deck. Laundry room is across for 7339. your cabin is on the Empress deck-- (i dont know why you would want to know about the Upper deck) Private balconies?? i wouldnt call them private. People in he next room standing at the rail can glance into your balcony. dividers are milkywhite plexiglass and your conversations will be heard-- and shadows can be seen. Balconies are also on a webcam to the bridge. pics of a balcony: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2748649960036926827PWrwLO http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1538789270044996125LESjQA http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2050436610040287513ggVYHq

serene56 Posted July 2, 2008 #684 Share Posted July 2, 2008 the empress deck is your best choice. try to stay on the port side (left side) as close to the aft elevators as possible-- this will gt you less traveling when getting to the food/pool area. you can only get to the aft dining room from the aft elevator. (deck 5 is the deck that gets you all the way from front to back)

RubyKate Posted July 5, 2008 #686 Share Posted July 5, 2008 Hi all. Plan to book Royal Caribbean for October 18th. I'd like a balcony, but am afraid it will have an obstructed view. Anyone know this ship well enough to advise me, or know a website I can check so I can make a better decision. Thanks so much.

kljones Posted July 6, 2008 #692 Share Posted July 6, 2008 Does anyone have info. on 8581 on the Jewel of the Seas. We have always cruised Royal Caribbean but never a inside cabin. Thx Linda
CruisenLexie Posted July 6, 2008 #693 Share Posted July 6, 2008 The tender door was right below. Every morning we tendered we were knocked out of bed by the clanking noises of the "automatic" chains (and motor) which open the metal tender door. We had the same thing on the Grand Princess cabin D605. Not the way to wake up in the am, especially when you were not getting off the ship early. Sarah72 Posted July 8, 2008 #699 Share Posted July 8, 2008 You're close to elevators on either side. Empress is a nice quiet deck. Thanks. So is this a good thing (location of elevators) or a bad thing (noise from elevaors?). This is my frist time on a cruise ship, I am going alone, the cabin was chosen by the travel agent and it was pretty much take it or leave it for an interior cabin. Carnival Game Posted July 8, 2008 #700 Share Posted July 8, 2008 We were recently on the Victory Empress deck in 7335, which is right around the corner from the elevators. With the walls you couldn't hear a thing. It was very convenient.
