Has anybody got any comments to make about this room? Its an SS on Navigation deck, but i'm worried it may be noisy and I've got a 5yr old that I don't want waking up? It looks as if its under the cafe and not under the pool area.

Any info is gratefully received.

Hey All:

Has anybody stayed down on deck 3 on the Freedom of the Seas, or her sister ships? I am in 3562, and it looks like I'm right next to they Crypt. Will I be listening to pounding all night long?

Or will it be ok. And I'm worrying for nothing. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Jack

Hey Jack,

I think that you should go back over to the RCI forum and post a new thread headed something like "Freedom of the Seas Room 3562/Near Crypt anyone?" and ask your question. Your original thread sort of makes it seem as though you are still shopping around for a stateroom, when in fact you need advice about Freedom Deck 3 near The Crypt, which really can get the best exposure on the other board. Too bad that second poster sent you over here to the slow lane. :o

Good luck~~

Leslie

On the Noordam to AK, do you think there will be an issue with aft pool deck chairs since it will be cold(er)? My parents are in VA8115.

We had a heated pool and used it and the hot tubs on our alaska cruise-it was HAL statendam we were on.

Deck 7 balconies have an overhang over the lifeboats directly below so you can't see the water. No big deal. But it is quite surprising to be enjoying a private moment on your balcony and become startled as a hatch in the overhang opens and a crew member comes up through it! I'm sure being on deck 7 at all creates potential to have a crew member climbing around outside while washing windows or whatever, but 7122 had the hatch right out front too.

I wouldn't book it again as I enjoy the privacy a balcony normally affords me.

Are you KIDDING? You need to go and read that thread in the Floataway lounge about making whoopee on your balcony-you will discover more then crew members see you!

Now we were out in the middle of the ocean between Key West and Grand Cayman and I was undressing when I noticed the reflection of a man in the mirror-sure enough-a crew member was out in the lifeboat under our window doing something-I found out why the next day when that lifeboat was used for tendering-so now-even if I am in the middle of the ocean-if there is a lifeboat close by- I check the window before undressing!

Leslie,

Thanks for you reply and suggestion. I have the cabin booked, but if I hear bad things, I will switch it to a different one. I only booked it beacuse I can get my $$ back, and my TA suggested booking it so I don't lose the price.

I was hoping someone here would have seen this and commented how they loved this cabin and had no problems.

Wishfull thinking, I guess.

Jack

My PVP quoted me for room 6232 on Carnival Legend. It seems you have been in this room before. How was the noise out side the cabin?

Kim

Kim- I hope you booked that cabin. It is one that is highly sought aftr for the balcony plus its ease right at the elevator- this is one ship that is awesome with their sound proofing. Wait til you hear the difference from whnyou are in the cabin til when you open the door.

You cant even hear the disco unless you are inside the place.

is it free? yes- will you be paying for a full suite price? then only you can determine if its worth it.

For the huge wrap around balcony and the priorty boarding yes . for the cabin space- no. if you book this cabin and go in with the knowledge on what you are getting then you should be ok-

have you seen the pics of the wrap around balcony?

Yes I've seen the wrap around balcony. I put in for a gty balcony and just wanted to know what to expect if I got that category. Thanks for your help.

taking a balacony guarantee- you really dont have a say one way or another to what you get. If you paid for a balcony and get this one room you are lucky. Most people get upgraded within the category they booked. WIth this cabin comes a priorty boarding so you would have done good.

UH OH I just booked our very first cruise and I'm on deck 6 - cabin 6443 ( balcony) and 2 insides 6451 and 6455!!!

Should I consider moving?

Which ship are you on? You should always make sure there are rooms above you, below you and on either side. I originally had a cabin on Deck 6 on the Liberty of the Seas, but decided to move to deck 8 when I realized that my cabin was above the pub. Deck 8 was the perfect deck because it was only a few decks above the promenade and only a few decks below the pools/buffet.

Other examples: People have complained about suites on some ships because they are on Deck 10 with the pool deck above, and they hear the noise from there.

Some exceptions to the rule: Rooms under the Royal Suites (at least I think that's the one) have complained about people leaving the piano playing all night.

We are booked on the Valor, Upper Deck - cabin 6443 (balcony) and 2 insides 6451 and 6455.

I've read through the entire thread and it appears that the noise shouldn't be too bad from the elevators or lounge above. We are not overly sensitive to noise. I think I'll take my chances and stick with the cabins I've got since I had a hard time finding a balcony with a triple & double right across the hall.

Hi, my sister was in a cabin near yours, and we were inside 6299 and 6301 and did not have any problems with the noise, we were worried being above the casino. I am a very light sleeper and it did not bother me at all.

Hello, My mother and I will be in a balcony on Upper deck, 6411. Has anyone stayed in this room? Above us is other rooms, but below is the promenade. Will this be loud? I do like to go to bed early, most nights. Will this be a problem? I love Cruise Critic and the friendly posters.

You will be above and across the way from the Jardin Cafe. You wont hear noise from here. Going to bed early wont be a problem. We had 6443 and it was perfect.

Laundry room is next door to 6393

Because it's an inside, I don't expect much but we are normally on deck 4 or 5. Any difference in decks:D ?

the only difference is -- the higher you go the more you pay-

the more you pay the more you sway.
