Whe you go to Jamaica by cruise, do you walk to margaritaville, take a taxi(been to jamaica, and def do not want to get in a taxi there) or can you book an excursion through the cruiseline. We are going into ocho rios and from what i understand it is pretty close, but i would like to book it through the cruiseline, but not sure if they offer it. Anyone done it?

in ochos rios, margaritaville is in the shopping center just to the right of the dock. but, like you probably experienced, we had a hard time finding it! the entrance that is closest to the dock was closed off, so we had to go up about two blocks and walk in the main island village entrance (along the right hand side), then walk THROUGH island village, just to get to margaritaville.

to get there from the ship: after you walk through/past the dock building, go past that traffic parking area and stick to the sidewalk on the right. just past the fence, there "might" be a entrance to your right. you'll see the beach. go in there and keep walking, you will see margaritaville. if that fence is closed, just keep walking along the sidewalk. you'll be walking along the BACK of island village, seeing a bunch of blank boring buildings. keep going. at the corner, you'll see a bunch of vegetation and brown bridges/walkways to your right. go in, walk through the entrance, and meander your way through island village down to margaritaville (there are signs but we just asked people).

*don't forget to look for the guy at the entrance with the "free shot" coupons! he's there! if you don't see him, ask one of the security guards!
