Evie30see Posted February 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2007 On-line information lists deck eight staterooms as having an obstructed view... how obstructed, and by what?
LAKaye Posted February 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2007 The staterooms on Deck 8 are inboard of the hanging lifeboats, which hang over much of the promenade deck. So, if you look straight out your window, you will see the broadside of a lifeboat. If you look down a bit, you can see the water. If you look down more, you see onto the promenade deck and the people there. Naturally, they can see you. I have heard on these boards that with a handful of these staterooms, there is a bit of a view to be had if the room is located near a space between two lifeboats. Perhaps someone else will stop by with an actual room number or two. Leslie

mohavemommy Posted February 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Since the Soverign and the Monarch are the same class of ship, these threads will help a bunch. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=496728 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=495946
kc320 Posted February 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2007 We had a cabin on Sov. deck 8 in Oct and just loved it!! Close to everything. I believe the 2 cabins on either side of the elevators are the ones with the least obstruction. We were in 8555 (I think) and did not find the obstruction bad at all!
