Rainbowdayz Posted February 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2007 Can anyone tell me how tipping is handled on Celebrity? The last few cruises we've taken, they've automatically added the gratuities on our charge card, which we liked. You could give an extra tip in person, if you liked on the last night. However, we have not sailed on Celebrity on 2001.
beauxdammit Posted February 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2007 Of course you can always tip extra at the end of the cruise. That's a nice way to acknowledge an individual that went "above and beyond".
Lsimon Posted February 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2007 You will receive a form in your stateroom to have the tips added to your shipboard account, if you wish to. It will have a deadline date a few days before the end of your cruise. So you must take action to get the tips added to your onboard account, otherwise it is up to you to tip in cash. In order to opt into this you must tip a minimum of the guideline tips. There is also a spot on the form to add a specific amount to any or all of the recipients, in addition to the guideline tip. We received vouchers and envelopes to pass out, along with a receipt, the second to last night of the cruise.
Rare Galaxy2004 Posted February 27, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2007 On our last couple of cruises on Constellation, towards the end of the cruise they left a card in our room for us to complete if we wanted the tips charged to our room. On the last day they left printed slips showing what we charged and envelopes for us to give to the employees. We could then add extra to those top performers. Not "automatic", but easier than having to handle cash for all the employees.
Rainbowdayz Posted February 27, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted February 27, 2007 You will receive a form in your stateroom to have the tips added to your shipboard account, if you wish to. That's great. I think it's easier than worrying with cash or getting vouchers from the pursor's desk. Thanks for the info!
