Lem Posted March 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2007 I was wondering how much noise there is in the dining room on AOS. I assume there are about 1,000-1,300 people there at each dining time and was wondering if it was hard to hold a conversation at the table without speaking loudly. We had great dinner conversation. No shouting necessary.
cb at sea Posted March 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 3, 2007 There are lots of fabrics to dampen sound--and it's not McDonalds!!! Folks tend to talk in civilized tones! It's no noisier than any nice restaurant!
Lem Posted March 3, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted March 3, 2007 Are there any advantages to being seated in one level over another?
nanfromatlanta Posted March 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2007 Are there any advantages to being seated in one level over another? There is no advantage as far as sound goes, in being on any particular level of the dining room. As long as we are not stuck in a back corner somewhere, and have nice tablemates, we are happy. Lem Posted March 3, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted March 3, 2007 Does each level have a different theme or decor?
xamsx Posted March 4, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 4, 2007 We were seated on the bottom level and specifically asked our waiter if the noise grew at you went up. He assured us the noise level on all three levels was the same - non-existant. :)
Ju1es Posted March 4, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 4, 2007 We didn't have a problem with it. I could see it being tricky if you were at a big table but that would be the same for any dining situation.

The dining room is three levels high, and one open space: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2543084390010725070HkkTIW http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2501307630051720618nJDnYQ http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2961659060010725070vnYKSM
