gianna01 Posted December 8, 2007 #29 Share Posted December 8, 2007 I am a major soup person too. Everynight I try at least 2 of the soups if not all three!!
bakechef Posted December 9, 2007 #30 Share Posted December 9, 2007 The roasted pumpkin was fantastic! The french onion in the supper club was outstanding as well, very rich and full bodied, it can be tough to find onion soup done right, and this was awsome. cws1966 Posted December 17, 2007 #36 Share Posted December 17, 2007 hi, I too LOVED the Carribean Pepper Pot when i had it on Carnival Ecstasy, but the following year I had it on Conquest and it was very bland. The Roast Pumpkin soup was great on both.
Azure Moon Posted December 22, 2007 #37 Share Posted December 22, 2007 On our first cruise, we enjoyed the pumpkin soup so much that we purchased the cookbooks (copyright 1998 and 2001.) We had our wonderful waiter and assistant sign one of them. So glad that we did! There are some soup recipes that I don't think are on your list, but maybe Carnival has retired them. Can't wait for our Liberty cruise so we can try a couple on your list :) .
tysaunt Posted December 23, 2007 #38 Share Posted December 23, 2007 It took me a while to try it (I'm REAL picky) but the strawberry bisque is delish! I'd love to find the recipe! Hi CruiseinNJ- From the Carnival Creations Cookbook (I got it in 1997) here's the recipe for Chilled Strawberry Soup which may be close. Chilled Strawberry Soup (serves 6) 2 cups frozen strawberries 2 cups milk 1 cup whipping crean 1/2 cup sour cream sugar Place all ingredients except sugar in blender container. Blend on high until smooth. Add sugar to tast. Chill overnight. Serve in chilled soup cups. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!!!
Richard's Mom Posted January 6, 2008 #39 Share Posted January 6, 2008 My favorite.... French Onion Soup. I have to use two utensils in order to eat the soup in public. There is so much cheese. I love it. Love to Cruise. Julie
Txladyofthelake Posted January 10, 2008 #40 Share Posted January 10, 2008 I didn't try the Lobster bisque in the main dining room, but I did have it in the supper club and it was to die for! I also had the Pumpkin soup and the Asparagus Vichyssoise, both were very good, but I think if I had to chose one, it would be the pumpkin. I also really enjoyed the Bouillabaisse that was served in the fish & chips restaurant and would love to find the recipe for that!

jessemon Posted May 7, 2008 #44 Share Posted May 7, 2008 I'll just put it this way. On the Captain's Formal Night dinner the #1 soup served is the 'West Indies Roasted Pumpkin Soup"..... Been on all the major cruiselines and this is the "BEST" soup served at sea...;) ;)
finedme Posted May 8, 2008 #45 Share Posted May 8, 2008 If you haven't tried the chilled cucumber soup...I highly reccommend it!!! This and the Strawberry Bisque are my favorites. DH LOVES the pumpkin soup
ladybug97 Posted May 11, 2008 #46 Share Posted May 11, 2008 Yummmm..now I am hungry just thinking about it! I will say that although my favorite lies with the Black Bean (with the touch of sour cream), my mom and dad both vote for the Chilled Strawberry!! I could eat any of them to be honest! :D

debdan54 Posted June 16, 2008 #48 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Without question, it's the Strawberry Bisque for me! A couple of Christmases ago, I took my teen son (then a high school senior) on a cruise for his Christmas present. He's always had a very discriminating pallette and he concurred. I value his opinion, as he is now a Culinary Arts major.
cocteau65 Posted June 17, 2008 #49 Share Posted June 17, 2008 It is hard to pick just one. I would like to get a quart of Mango then add rum and ice. :D I'm likeing the sound of that !
Drew B Posted June 19, 2008 #50 Share Posted June 19, 2008 Do what we do and skip the salad and order your crab cakes and lobster bisque. Okay. If I'm trying to decide among the crab cakes, the lobster bisque, and the escargots, which one should I leave off...
