I love French Onion Soup but find it is 'difficult' to eat...

Does anyone have a favorite technique that I may find useful?????????

>The cheese tends to be so stringy that I

usually WISH I had a pair of scissors.<

Favorites: Pumpkin Soup & Mushroom Soup are so yummy!

Can't decide whether to have the Crab Cakes or the Lobster Bisque in the Supper Club.... leaving on Spirit soon.:p

Which one should I try???????????

-may need to go twice-

now i'm very hungry,

Janis

I really love soup too and I have tried most of these soups listed and my top 5 in order of preference are:

1. Creama Di Funghi Selvatica

2. Cream of Sun Ripend Tomato

3. Aspargus Vichyssoise

4. West Indian Pumpkin Soup

5. Lobster Bisque

On our first cruise, we enjoyed the pumpkin soup so much that we purchased the cookbooks (copyright 1998 and 2001.) We had our wonderful waiter and assistant sign one of them. So glad that we did!

There are some soup recipes that I don't think are on your list, but maybe Carnival has retired them.

Can't wait for our Liberty cruise so we can try a couple on your list :) .

It took me a while to try it (I'm REAL picky) but the strawberry bisque is delish! I'd love to find the recipe!

Hi CruiseinNJ-

From the Carnival Creations Cookbook (I got it in 1997) here's the recipe for Chilled Strawberry Soup which may be close.

Chilled Strawberry Soup (serves 6)

2 cups frozen strawberries

2 cups milk

1 cup whipping crean

1/2 cup sour cream

sugar

Place all ingredients except sugar in blender container. Blend on high until smooth. Add sugar to tast. Chill overnight. Serve in chilled soup cups.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays!!!

I didn't try the Lobster bisque in the main dining room, but I did have it in the supper club and it was to die for! I also had the Pumpkin soup and the Asparagus Vichyssoise, both were very good, but I think if I had to chose one, it would be the pumpkin. I also really enjoyed the Bouillabaisse that was served in the fish & chips restaurant and would love to find the recipe for that!

MMMMMM!!!! Bouillabaisse Ala Carnival... I too fell in love with it on my recent cruise aboard the Conquest. The flavor was outstanding!

If anybody has a recipe they would care to share for this it would be greatly appreciated! I have scoured the internet with no luck.

I'll just put it this way. On the Captain's Formal Night dinner the #1 soup served is the 'West Indies Roasted Pumpkin Soup".....

Been on all the major cruiselines and this is the "BEST" soup served at sea...;) ;)

Yummmm..now I am hungry just thinking about it! I will say that although my favorite lies with the Black Bean (with the touch of sour cream), my mom and dad both vote for the Chilled Strawberry!! I could eat any of them to be honest! :D

Without question, it's the Strawberry Bisque for me! A couple of Christmases ago, I took my teen son (then a high school senior) on a cruise for his Christmas present. He's always had a very discriminating pallette and he concurred. I value his opinion, as he is now a Culinary Arts major.

Do what we do and skip the salad and order your crab cakes and lobster bisque.

Okay. If I'm trying to decide among the crab cakes, the lobster bisque, and the escargots, which one should I leave off...
