OceanFantasys Posted March 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2007 Hello there. You have helped me in the past with so much good info. I hope you don't mind helping again. I have a thread on the next page that nobody has responded too so I came tou you. :) We are going to fly into Fll in September although our cruise will be out of Miami. We are going to fly in 2 days early and stay at either a fll hotel or Miami hotel. I prefer fll becaue I want to ride that water taxi. Last time we were there the boat show took over so they wouldn't let us on so we were just stuck in the Renaissance all night. I am thinking of renting a car at the airport in fll. My question is, will I be able to return the car close to the port of Miami or will I need to take it to the mia airport for dropoff? And will they bring us back to the port? I have seen someone say if you rent from Avis that you can drop it off real close to the port and walk back to the port. Is this so? I am trying to think of the most economical way to do this. I also am handicapped with a scooter so I am not all sure if any shuttles are even accessible for me. I guess my main question would be....... Can you rent a care at fll airport and which one would you advise and can you drop the car off in Miami at either the port or airport? Thank you Bequia for all of your help. Bequia Posted March 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2007 Avis has a location in downtown Miami. They do not offer a shuttle for the 5 minute ride to the port. Cab fare is less then $10.
