San Juan Restaurants

We are going on the Constellation on Dec 4, and are arriving a day before the cruise. We used to go to the Chart House restaurant, which was across from the Marriott, but it is closed. What is your favorite restaurant in San Juan for dinner. We have gone to a great burger place for lunch. I don't know the name of it, but it is on the same street as the El San Juan. They have the best garlic burgers, but we are looking for a dinner restaurant before the cruise. Thanks.

There is a wonderful restaurant, Ajilli Mojilli (hope I spelled it correctly), where we had a wonderful pre-cruise meal. It had been recommended to me by a friend who lived in Puerto Rico for many years. They have authentic and DELICIOUS food. We enjoyed the shrimp dishes and I had the best rice and beans that I have ever had as a side dish. I look forward to returning there.

Thanks for the info. I will put those on my list of places to visit. I haven't ever had true Puerto Rican food. Usually have eaten at steak houses, but I just might have to try one of these. Thanks again.

Maybe someone can help me with the name of this place -I believe it is Cobia - it is rated as one of the best seafood restaurants in San Juan. It is in the Condado Plaza hotel and casino - we took a taxi there and we liked it so much we ate there both nights before the cruise!

Etd to add - ask for a table by the windows when you make a reservation

My wife and I love the Palm. We go to one when we are in a city that has one.

There is a Palm in the El San Juan Hotel and Casino. It is fantastic for Steak and Lobster. Last time we were there the smallest lobster they had was 3 pounds. It was great.

All in the Condado section of San Juan, on Avenida Magdalena, try Ramiro's, Jose Jose, and Antonio's in that order. I've also heard that the restaurant in the Excelsior Hotel is excellent but have not tried it.

lilicat: you are correct The name is cobias and its the seafood and tapas bar in the condado plaza and casino I have eaten there a few times and loved it. The food there is on the expensive side though and you usually need a reservation.
