Is it a bad idea to be very close to the elevators?Can they be heard from the room?Thanks

I was worried about having our cabin across from the elevators on the Star Princess. We never heard any noise from them. And it was very convenient to be so close to the stairs. Our cabin was E705.

Good to hear. I was also worried about this, as our cabin is pretty close to the rear elevators on the Caribbean Princess.

We have been right by the elevator on the Pacific, Tahitian and Regal. We never heard them.

Being near the elevators has never been a problem.

People talking loudly in the hallways and being inconsiderate at all hours is the problem:D

Was just two staterooms down from the aft elevators on the CB in February and great location. No noise whatsoever and great for getting up to eat and down to eat!!

The only time we have heard the elevators was on Golden Princess in a very strong Atlantic storm. The cars or their cables could be heard banging about in the elevator shaft.

 

During that same storm, Aug 02, bow slap spray was raining down on our Caribe Deck balcony, several windows along Prom Deck shattered while ship was flexing and fighting for seaway, and there was a lot of breakage damage in the ship's shops.

Our cabin is E116 on the Star. It's right above the Princess Theatre. Any ideas on noise levels there?
