I would like to know how much a taxi fare would be from LGA to the NY port.

From LGA to Manhatten the meter in the taxi runs at its regular rate. Usually the fare is about $24-$30, plus tolls & tip, assuming you don't get stuck in traffic -- the meter moves per mile or per minute if you're just sitting.
