Mavis finds crew members worse for wear

This story appeared in the Uk Evening Star about the QE2 World Cruise...

INTREPID Evening Star reader Mavis Bensley is nearing the end of her round-the-world cruise on the QE2. In India this week, she saw some crew return to the ship drunk, endured a hair-raising taxi ride, and saw saris unravelling at an onboard cocktail party.

Possibly they need that drinks to face some of the world cruise passengers again:rolleyes:

But boy can those guys drink, l was invited a number of years ago below decks for a few drinks, we all had a skinfull l missed breakfast and lunch:eek: and was very fragile for a time afterwards, and havent touched Johnnie walker red since... but they were on duty all bright eyed. I seem to recall the prices being very cheap indeed,Large ones all round:D

I admit to having gone drinking with some of the crew on one of our cruises (From the entertainment staff) on their day off. Wow! Can they put it away! But very discreet on their return to the ship. And then out and about with the passengers on deck at the sailaway later. It was one of our favorite times with great memories.

And it doesn't hurt that you feel special having made friends with some of the staff that they would let you into their inner circle.

Karie,

who could use that drink now!

I've known some members of staff who, whilst they have turned up for duty, have been decidedly the worse for wear:)
