george2000 Posted April 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2007 So excited. I have heard stories about how hard it is to get balcony handicapped accessible cabins to Alaska. So imagine how thrilled I was to get a handicapped cabin for my husband who has progressive MS and a regular cabin right next door for my daughter and her grandfather. Of course, now I just have to wait 16 months for the cruise, but I don't have to worry anymore. Just wanted to let you know it is possible to get a balcony cabin for Alaska, you've just got to be the early bird.
gassman55 Posted April 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Nice that you have the time. Which line did you end up with and if you don't mind can you let me know how much you paid for two in the room with the balcony? I am booking now. Robt. george2000 Posted April 13, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted April 13, 2007 I booked on RCCL Serenade of the Seas and paid $4236.38 for two in the handicapped balcony cabin. That includes taxes, fees and travel insurance. I usually find cruisesonly is the cheapest way to go, but since they didn't have their Alaska 08 cruises up yet, I went ahead and booked thru the cruise line in order to get a balcony.
