BethV114 Posted April 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2007 Hi all. My husband and I will be sailing the Liberty next month on her inaugural. He will be newly scuba certified and I will have just attended a refresher course. Since we're still new at this, we don't want to book at scuba excursion through the ship and end up with tons of people and no personal attention, so we've decided to try to book directly with a diving operation at Cozumel (and possibly Grand Cayman). Does anyone out there have any experience with this? Any dive operators you would recommend or advise against? I know there are specific boards for the ports, but this board seems to be much more active, so I thought posting here (as well as on the port-specific boards) might help get the best results. Thanks for the help!!:D
SailingDeanna Posted April 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2007 Our family is also fairly new scuba divers. We did this itinerary twice. Our favorite dive as in Grand Cayman. It is a dive place called Eden Rock. It is walking distance from the port. It is shore diving that is great for beginner divers. Lots of fish and rock formations. There are lots of crevices and open caves you go through. We had a personal guide that we reserved a few months in advance. It is probably 35-40 feet with great visibility. I would highly recommend this. They have equipment rental if you don't have it.
