Formal night will be the second night. For the 4 night cruise, it will be Key West day - since we're back on board by 2, we have plenty of time to get ready. For the 5 night, formal night will be your first sea day. Imagination was my first cruise - I was on her maiden voyage. Can't wait to go back in 12 days!

I am getting ready to book the Imagination for March 24th. The ports look wonderful! Has anyone ever been to Half Moon Cay or Grand Turk? I've heard they are great for a beach day!

I'm excited about this ship because I just got off the Inspiration and loved it!

2. what are the general price of food and drinks on board, a beer for example ???

 

3. what time do we need to be at the port at on the morning of departure, we arrive from ireland the night before and a sleep in would help.

1. Don't know, I have only been in an oceanview and very happy with it

 

2. Food is already included in your cruise fare. Beer is between $4-$6 a bottle/can.

 

3. 11am-12pm is around a good time to arrive at Port of Miami.

i might just go with ocean view then.

 

this will be my first cruise and part of my honeymoon so i just want all to be perfect ( or as perfect as can be)

Had a Cat 12 on Imagination. Loved the space and the peace and quiet on the balconey. Great views of the ports and very little rocking since they are all midship. We also got VIP boarding and were on at 11:30 eating lunch.

well i booked and got R181 as my room. Really looking forward to kicking back after my wedding.

 

Just wondering what is the min i can get away with wearing to the formal night, i'm traveling from Ireland and not interested in hauling suit etc accross the water.

 

The room service is a great touch for the price and the drinks don't look too expensive.

I recently went on the Inspiration (sister ship to the Imagination) and formal night was not as formal as I thought. There were lots of guys in a suits or a shirt and tie. If you look nice without wearing jeans or cargo pants you'll be fine.

Some family and friends of mine are all going on our very first cruise and we chose the Imagination. We leave Oct. 4th, it is only the 4 day cruise to Key West and Calica. My main question is how formal is formal night? Would a gown be to formal? or should I stick with a cocktail dress? I will be 21 at the time, so is there anything for my friend and I to get into? Any advice for a first timer is more than appreciated! Thanks to all who respond! :)

I have to say I love the imagination! I have been on larger cruise ships, but there is something about the imagination. Loved the people who work on the ship. I think the food isn't as good as a 7 day, but overall it is fantastic. It is definately an older ship, but for a first timer you will love it. You have nothing to compare it to, so just enjoy yourself.

I have been on the Imagination twice, and wouldn't hesitate to go back again!

My vacation starts in less than one week! Then a few days of chilling in Miami and then the Imagination! I'm SO excited...I just hope it doesn't all fly by too fast.

I know that people are saying that for a first time cruise the Imagination is fine but what about a second time cruiser who just got off the Glory, a much larger and newer ship? I'm trying to book a cruise with my friends and we're all in college so we can't afford the Glory unfortunately.

Imagination was my first cruise in 2000. I had never experienced anything like that first time. I will never forget it. I didnt want to leave. I was so sad when i got home..It wasnt until last year that i cruised again and now im hooked. The ship is very nice but i sailed on her sister the Inspiration last year and i think she is much nicer. I love the Inspiration. The ship has a great design. Alot of the promenade areas are more detailed and more lively than the Imagination. However the Imagination does have the mini-golf and im sure they have updated the promenade a bit since i was on her in 2000. Have a wonderful time! The service is top notch on the smaller ships!

Looks like you booked bunk beds? As to formal night you can rent a tux from the ship. Then you would be formal and wouldn't need to haul it around. Our formal night was pretty formal. Mostly tuxes or suits lots of long gowns. Enjoy your cruise.

This is going to be our 3rd time on her and 5th on fantasy class ships. We have been on the Destiny class and also even bigger ships on RCCL. For us we love this size of ship better. The only draw back which is minor to me but big to the wife is no Balcony. The do have very limited amount of balcony's on this class of ship and the are all considered suites that come with a high price tag.
To us its not about the ship its about relaxing.

We set sail in 10 days on Imagination. I'm bringing a long formal dress, I don't get to wear it often. I'm actually quite excited about the size of the ship, some ships just look too big for me. And we just got upgraded to 6D I believe (E34). I paid for the lowest level inside room, so am quite pleased.

I was looking into booking this ship in September. I have two questions though. Does this ship have sushi everyday?? Also I know the ship will be going into dry dock this fall. Does the ship now have the really nice carnival bedding that you can purchase?? I couldn't image not having the awesome carnival down comforter :)

There is a sushi station near the casino. Not sure on details as I don't care for sushi. Yes to down comforters. Enjoy your cruise.
