oswaldjacoby Posted April 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We will be on the PofAM in June. We are deciding whether to do the Napali Explorer Tour. Would love thoughts from those who have done this if it is worthwhile. Given that the PofAM seems to get close to the coast, was wondering if the Explorer tour adds much to what you will see anyways. Great snorkeling, swam with Sea Turtles, dolphins, many fish. Up close and personal with the Na' Pali Coast, backed the boats into sea caves, under waterfalls. Great experience. TeardropAway Posted April 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2007 We're just back from IP and took this tour. Had a fantastic time, however keep in mind it's a full day so you won't get time to explore the rest of the island. The tour is on a large zodiac boat with time for snorkeling. We only saw sea turtles from a distance but had dolphins swimming all around the boat, also saw numerous whales -- if you're going between Jan-Apr there's a good chance for sightings. Also the strength of the swells will impact how close you can get to shore. We were not able to get as close as previous poster, only saw coastline from a distance. However, you will see spectacular coastline that is not accessible otherwise except by helicopter. -Mel
