Wind Surf Room 155 Way Up Front - OK?

We're close to deciding that we will do the 11/7 and 11/14 back to back cruises on the Wind Surf. Our TA has given us a quote for category B room 155, which is the second room from the front, on the lowest deck. Is this going to be too noisy or too rocky? Should we ask for a room amidships, or maybe spend an extra $200 each ($100 per person per week) for category A? Again, your thoughts would be appreciated.

We will be on the wind surf from september 2nd until september 12th, I can tell you how the room is when we get back.

My TA told that the engine is at the back of the ship, so probably the most noise is over there.

The noise is aft, not forward, and is from the exhaust when under power, and from the resulting wake. The quiet rooms are in front. The lower deck is cheaper because it's one flight lower, not because it's loud...except from about 110 back.

The best sound in the world is the ocean periodically slapping quietly upside the hull just outside your cabin. You miss that on the middle deck.

Thanks, both of you. We'll probably decide on Monday. Our room might be 154, which is next to an elevator; and that might be a problem. Maybe 155 will become free again - for the moment, we appear to have lost that room.
