redneck_dan Posted August 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2004 For me, I couldn't do without the casino or Camp Carnival for a place for my daughter while I am in the casino.
MrNobody Posted August 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2004 Love those fun days at sea:D ...went on a cruise out of San Juan a few years back and we did five ports (I think)...with one day at sea...said I would never do that again and I havent...Jake
hstrybuf Posted August 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2004 Since I could only choose one, I chose port days. I love being able to visit several different places and only having to unpack once. Plus, I don't have to drive! :D

roscoesdream Posted August 7, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 7, 2004 Love the sea days here, but also like to eat and drink and play in casino and lay in the sun and see the shows and visit some ports and.... well you get it I like everything!!!:p ;)
dbauknight Posted August 7, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2004 If they did away with Cruise Ships, then I would never cruise again :) I chose "other".... I second that motion! Next...it would have to be sea days. LOVE my sea days.
yarlenna Posted August 7, 2004 #10 Share Posted August 7, 2004 I answered other. If they did away with the great variety of live music, that would be the end for me. I LOVE being able to hear the light classics. I really enjoy the live dance music and wish they could manage a real dance floor. I even like steel drum music if it isn't over amped. glrounds Posted August 7, 2004 #11 Share Posted August 7, 2004 Since I could only choose one, I chose port days. I love being able to visit several different places and only having to unpack once. Plus, I don't have to drive! :D This got my vote also. I love being with and meeting different people from different cultures and with differing political views. A cruiseship without ports is merely a casino with a lot of bars and entertainment to me. I like these also, but Vegas is the master at this game and that's where I would be then. Drive there in 3 hours, fly there in 45 minutes. :D Having said that, I do have to admit, I love the stringed classics also, crazy about the comedians, and the disco (provided the DJ isn't hung up on "rap"). :D
judyjbest Posted August 7, 2004 #12 Share Posted August 7, 2004 My thought, too, as I entered this thread was that the only answer was "cruise ships". But, of the choices, the only thing I would really miss would be sea days. We love the ports, but those days are very tiring, so we try to limit to no more than 3 ports on a 7-day cruise. We love sea days!
Cruising89143 Posted August 7, 2004 #13 Share Posted August 7, 2004 For me it was port days. Sea days are nice but not too many.
jaybertx Posted August 8, 2004 #14 Share Posted August 8, 2004 If they did away with all oceans, seas and gulfs, cruising would be ruined! :D
Diamond Graham Posted August 8, 2004 #15 Share Posted August 8, 2004 I voted for Sea Days, however if they did away with them, I would make my own and just stay on the ship in at least one port of call. I did this a few years back on a cruise with no sea days, I chose the one port that I had been to in the past that I was not all that "gassed up" about and jsut stayed on the ship and lounged by the pool. It was so quiet it almost seemed like I had my own personal resort!:D
karen_cpa Posted August 8, 2004 #16 Share Posted August 8, 2004 Hubby and I were just discussing this the other day! I really want to do a Hawaiian cruise, but not all of them have a casino on board. Hubby would stay home if there was no casino! For me - nothing could really happen that would stop me from cruising!
newcruiser452 Posted August 8, 2004 #17 Share Posted August 8, 2004 But I will be cruising because of the ports although I believe the sea days will be equally as fun.
IBEEMOM Posted August 8, 2004 #18 Share Posted August 8, 2004 Cruising is a wonderful way to visit many unusual ports and see countries that would be unknown to me.
Cruisin'Susan Posted August 8, 2004 #19 Share Posted August 8, 2004 I voted for Camp Carnival. Mainly because having a small child it is nice to have someone you can trust watch your child for a couple hours while you enjoy your vacation. Plus she loves camp carnival too. If you have a small child you cant go to the casino or other adult places. My husband and I rarely get to go out alone and it would be hard to leave my child at home while I was cruising. So its nice to be able to bring her and enjoy port days together, and she has a place to go to scream, run, jump and play. My 2nd choice would be port days. I love going from place to place. It is awesome!
kodiac Posted August 8, 2004 #20 Share Posted August 8, 2004 Everything on a cruise is great. Change can always be bad! If they did away with any of the above I don't know if things would be the same. I especially love the days at sea where you can't see anything but water for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles. Did I mention water everywhere?!? Kodiac :)

DreadPirateRobert Posted August 10, 2004 #24 Share Posted August 10, 2004 Port days for me. I love the days at sea. I can stand at the rail and watch the sea roll by for hours but the port days are my favorite. Getting to swim in the beautiful waters of Cozumel, sitting on the beach at Megan's Bay,or Cane Garden Bay , taking the Jolly Roger excursion in Barbados or snorkeling in Aruba is why I cruise.
