cokecolect Posted April 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2007 We finish our cruise in Vancouver and have that full day before we leave the next day. Will not have a car. Am I better off getting a hotel near the cruise port, near the airport or downtown? We will want to do some sightseeing. I understand the cab ride from downtown to the airport runs about $35. Some recommendations please!
captainron Posted April 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2007 Hi, A lot depends on how much you want to pay for a hotel. Personally, the Pan Pacific adjacent (read above) the Canada Place Cruiseship Terminal is IMHO one of the nicest in Vancouver. Before you start worrying about taxi costs, YVR (green buses) airporters run from most downtown hotels and the fare is considerably less. Suggest you google "YVR Airporters" to get fare and sched details. If you stay on the south side/Richmond there is not much scenic out that way (apologies to White Rock, Surrey, Steveston and Richmond). Enjoy the scenic beauty of the most beautiful harbour in the world and the surrounding parks and mountains. Ciao for now!!!
grouchy Posted April 26, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2007 by going to http://www.betterbidding.com and check out info on hotwire and priceline. Then if you feel comfortable-you can get a great hotel for a good price. Stay someplace special!
